Overview

This 1-day hands-on welding Inspection & VT & LPT – AWARNESS (ASNT – Level II) training program tailored for technical skill development in Welding inspection processes. The training includes theory, practice, assessment, and certification for Participants.

Participants will gain practical awareness of how equipment, process, and human-related losses affect performance and learn structured methods to reduce waste, improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and support a culture of continuous improvement.

Course Objective

  • Theoretical Concepts & Principles
  • Registration & Introduction to NDT Methods.
  • Basic Principles of Visual Testing (VT)
  • Types of Discontinuities & Defects – Surface / Subsurface
  • Basics of Liquid Penetrant Testing (LPT) – Types, Process, Applications
  • Standards, Codes (ASTM), PPE, and Safety.
  • VT Equipment Demo – Gauges, Light Intensity, Surface Conditions
  • LPT Demo – Cleaner, Penetrant, Developer Application (All Types)
  • Practical Hands-on: Welded Sample Testing (VT + LPT) with report Preparation
  • Defect Evaluation – Acceptance Criteria.
  • Written Test (Theory + Practical Reporting).
  • Feedback, Doubts, and Certificate Distribution

Outcomes

Participants will be able to:
  • Gain a thorough understanding of VT & LPT principles, standards (ASME, ASTM, ISO), and identification of weld defects.
  • Perform practical VT and LPT inspections, operate testing equipment, and evaluate welded samples with hands-on proficiency.
