Additive manufacturing (AM) is a rapidly growing manufacturing technology that allows rapid prototyping and creation of more complex and functional parts including end-use parts and traditional manufacturing tooling. AM has a variety of build methods, such as stereolithography, material jetting and material extrusion.

Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) is a structured methodology used to develop new products especially in the automotive industry. The purpose of this methodology is to make a product quality plan which will support development of a product or service that will satisfy the customer. APQP facilitates communication with everyone involved in the product development process to assure that all steps are completed in an appropriate manner on time. This would result in providing a quality product to the customer on time at the lowest cost.  In this course the APQP methodology is explained step by step with PPTs, videos and industry examples. Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA)

  • Understand the need & requirements of FMEA as per AIAG  - VDA guidelines

  • Be able to identifying the recommended actions (Action Priorities) to improve the manufacturing & assembly processes through structured application of Process FMEA.

  • Understand the changes in the latest FMEA edition (AIAG – VDA).

  • Learn how to Calculate Risk Priority Number (RPN) and how to Prioritize RPNs
